Default R/E With Wards

Here's a build I'm thinking of making up for PvE, and the possibility of PvP.

Ranger/Elementalist
11 + 3 Expertise (Superior Rune)
10 + 1 + 1 Marksmanship (Minor Rune, Mask)
10 + 1 Wilderness Survival (Minor Rune)
1 Earth Magic

Using a bow with either Poisoner's or Vampiric string... and a either a fortitude or enchanting grip...

This is a build with the hopes of being able to do alot solo with a ranger by using wards etc., though I'm not sure what the skill bar would be like... maybe something like this?

Marksman's Wager/Obsidian Flesh/Poison Arrow/Melandru's Arrows/Barrage [E]
Armor of Earth/Kinetic Armor/Magnetic Aura
Ward (Either Melee, Foes, Elements)
Throw Dirt/Muddy Terrain
Whirling Defense/Dryder's Defenses
Hunter's Shot
Troll Unguent
Apply Poison (If not using Poison Arrow)/Pin Down

If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

I think rangers are better off kiting than tanking. There's really no reason to let an enemy get close enough to hit you. Ward against elements is the only one that might help you, and then only against ranged attacking casters. Muddy terrain needs to go, because it negates any crippling you dish out. Barbed trap will easily be more useful than ward against melee.

So put in barbed trap instead of wards?

I take it with this build you wont be moving around any? otherwise wards and armor of earth will do you no good.. armor of earth will provide probably about 30 armor and also slow your speed down to fifty percent speed.. your melee ward will only last about 12 seconds with a 20 second recharge time.. if you want to use these i suggest trying to get a couple more points into earth.

I Figure with the wards etc., that I wouldn't have to move. And then i have armor of earth/kinetic/magnetic aura or whatever, along with dryders or whirling defense to keep myself defended... and along with the blinding from throw dirt, and then if i run out of defenses, Pin down and back up, repeat.
